Microsoft Windows Server 2012 has simplified and streamlined to make it easier for the customer to choose the editions meeting with their needs and requirements. There are four Windows Server 2012 editions as listed below:  

·         Datacenter edition in intended for organizations on highly-virtualized cloud environments

·         Standard edition is for non-virtualized or lightly virtualized environments.

·         Essential edition meant for small businesses with up to 2 server processors with limit of 25 users.

·         Foundation edition serve small businesses with up to 15 users running on single processor servers.
